Mr & Mrs Sale Ibex Builders worked on our Georgian terrace house for about three months during the autumn of 2012. Work on the exterior included the replacement of four windows and repair of the rest, complete repointing of all brickwork, removal of accumulated paint layers on external metalwork, repair of rendered frontage, and finally all external repainting. The house is Grade II listed, so all external work had to meet the requirements of Camden Council’s Conservation officer. These included such issues as exact matching of windows replaced and the repointing style of brickwork.

Ibex also carried out structural work on the interior, to deal with damp in the basement and a problem with the inner layer of brickwork on the frontage near the roof. Both these jobs involved complex diagnosis, treatment and repair.

We felt that the length, scale and complexity of the work carried out was a searching test of the quality of a building firm – not least of the firm’s ability to commit to a job without periodically disappearing off to work on other projects. We always knew when to expect the Ibex team and were kept closely informed on progress. Team members were unfailingly polite and considerate in the time they spent outside and inside the house. The work was carried out to a high standard, with careful attention to detail. Alfred Popaj’s quotations for different parts of the job proved remarkably accurate, given the complexity of the work. We felt his charges were fair, particularly given that only high quality materials were used.

In conclusion, if you need a skilled and experienced building firm that works to high standards for reasonable charges, based on our experience we can thoroughly recommend Ibex Builders.

Harry, IG2 Alfred Popaj have been working for me over the last five years. During this period they built an extension with shower and toilet including all the plumbing and electrical work. They also altered my kitchen with placing double glazed windows and a new patio door. All the work was carried out under the supervision of the council inspectors “Building Regulation”. I was very satisfied with the end result. One thing I liked about Ibex Builders was that the director (Alfred) was always there to oversee the work and always asked me what exactly I wanted and would then give me the realistic option.
